Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently seeking an individual with strong administrative and customer service skills to join their team. Demonstrated settlements experience, as well as excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and computer skills are essential for this role. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize and respond to deliverables in a timely manner. Adhering to policies and procedures is an important aspect of this role.
 

Responsibilities:
 
  • Settlement of Electronic (CDSX / DTCC) and Physical OTC New Issue Closings.
  • COD trade input, matching, confirmation, trade adjustment and reconciliation.
  • Communicating with Custodians on unmatched COD trades, New Issue - Syndication team and other internal departments. Communicating with Transfer Agents, Legal Counsels, and other Brokerage firms regarding physical Closings.  
  • Organizing CDSX / DTCC Deposit for lead closings, instructions provided by Treasury Order.
  • Processing Physical Closing exchange of UNITS into shares and Warrants on DATAPHILE before trade settlement.
  • Handling and processing physical securities OTC against CDS cash only settlement and against payment OTC, receiving / delivering certificates against cheque.
  • Other tasks will include North Bound Flips, Internal CUSIP set up, and supporting the Department where required.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • 2 - 5 years Settlement processing experience within a Brokerage environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and quick learner.
  • Excellent prioritization skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and willing to assist team members as required.
  • Flexible, reliable and availability to work overtime as required.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (WORD, EXCEL and Outlook). Ability and willingness to learn new system - applications.
  • Familiarity with DATAPHILE is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CDS/ARROW and DTCC and securities negotiability, preferred.
