Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is looking for a Supervisor, Mutual Funds & GICs to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.  Reporting to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Operations, Mutual Funds & GICs, the Supervisor, Mutual Funds & GICs is responsible for overseeing a dedicated team of professionals that manage all operational activity associated with Canadian mutual funds, hedge funds, high interest savings accounts and GICs.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mutual Funds & GICs team including trading and settlement
  • Recruit, train, motivate and support staff;
  • Identify opportunities to increase workflow efficiencies, improve service levels and minimize risk;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external industry stakeholders including fund manufacturers, GIC issuers, and service providers;
  • Lead and participate in projects that directly impact the Mutual Funds & GICs team;
  • Ensure department policies and procedures are documented and updated on a regular basis;
  • Handle escalation and problem resolution;
  • Provide administrative support when required.
 
Skills & Qualifications:

 
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a finance or accountancy role;
  • Strong leadership qualities, including a willingness to take accountability for the actions of others;
  • Positive and proactive attitude, with a genuine desire to support others;
  • Very strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a multifaceted environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of being able to deliver results;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
  • Experience with Dataphile and FundSERV is an asset.
