Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team in Toronto. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Install and deploy new gateways on Checkpoint Gaia, appliances or open servers;
  • Support and manage all features of Checkpoint firewalls; Access control, IPS, Application control, Threat prevention and Sandblast;
  • Create and modify Access control and IPS policies;
  • Deploy new VPN connections with remote offices or business partners;
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to Checkpoint environment using all available tools, open tickets with Checkpoint support;
  • Install hot fixes and upgrade to new revisions in Checkpoint environment;
  • Run projects related to Checkpoint infrastructure in Enterprise network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common issues related to routing and switching in enterprise networks;
  • Perform network related tasks with the use of Cisco CLI;
  • Work with hardware, replace faulty components in Cisco routers and switches
  • Assist with deploying new network gear;
  • Manage cabling in computer rooms or wiring closets, with ability to use network testing tools.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and application performance issues.
 
Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in supporting Checkpoint technologies including R80.xx build.
  • Solid knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls and management systems, CCSA would be an asset;
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years in supporting enterprise networks.
  • Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals, mainly Cisco based networks, CCNA, preferably CCNP certification would be an asset;
  • Strong Linux (Gaia OS) skills.
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP stack. Understand and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues with Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of WIFI technologies along with ability to support them in enterprise environment, experience in Aruba networks is an asset.
  • Knowledge and ability to use network monitoring software, (E.g. Solarwinds).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with the IT team across the organization.
  • Proactive and capable of proposing improved and optimized network and security infrastructure.
