Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for an Analyst, Investment Banking to join our team in Calgary. As an integral member of our Corporate Finance team, the Analyst, Investment Banking will be responsible for supporting the execution of domestic and international transactions relating to mergers and acquisitions, public and private capital raisings, and other fiscal advisory services. This position reports to the Managing Director & Head of Energy, Canada, Investment Banking.


Responsibilities

The Analyst role is dynamic and involves a high degree of interaction with all facets of the Corporate Finance team. Each member of the team depends on each other to ensure the highest degree of accuracy and timeliness in our communications with clients. This is an ideal position for those who seek an opportunity to play a meaningful role at an early stage in their career. Typical responsibilities include:
 
  • Working with the team to execute client transactions from start to finish;
  • Conducting company and industry research;
  • Developing and maintaining financial models, including valuation and merger analysis;
  • Assisting in the creation and preparation of client presentations;
  • Maintaining internal databases.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CFA designation or other professional designations (CA, P.Eng) is considered an asset;
  • Relevant capital markets experience or prior industry experience in an engineering or geology role at an energy related company is preferred
  • Direct experience in, and a solid understanding of, financial modeling and valuation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to function and multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic work environment;
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
