Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a Systems Administrator to join their IT department. 

Responsibilities

 
  • Design, implement, configure and support large-scale infrastructure back-end systems: 
    • Disaster Recovery (VMware SRM and HA, SAN to SAN replication)
    • Virtual Server Farms (VMware 6.x)
    • SAN support (3PAR 7200 & 8200 systems)
    • Backup systems (Veritas NetBackup)
    • Tape storage
    • FTP/SFTP
  • Design, implement, configure and support backend infrastructure for development teams:
    • SharePoint (2007 & 2010)
    • Data warehousing & SQL (MS SQL & Oracle)
    • Knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and counter-measures
  • Implement and support Microsoft systems:
    • MS Skype for Business
    • Exchange 2010, Exchange 2016 
    • Windows Server 2008 & 2012 & 2016
    • DFSR
  • Provide written proposals for technology upgrades and purchases;
  • Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization;
  • Provide 2nd & 3rd level support for follow-up and resolution;
  • Establish and maintain documentation;
  • Follow corporate Change Management procedures;
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information;
  • Responsible for projects and initiatives that will impact the company locally, regionally or nationally;
  • Provide coverage for team members during absences to ensure proper backups are in place;
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.



Skills and Qualifications
 
  • Knowledge or experience in scripting with Powershell, VBScript or other languages required;
  • Experience with traffic load balancers (F5 Big IP LTMs and GTMs);
  • MS Exchange support experience;
  • Systems architecture experience;
  • VMWare experience;
  • HP SAN experience (3PAR);
  • Infrastructure installation experience within a datacenter environment;
  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering;
  • Experience with backup and tape storage;
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, SharePoint, SQL, IIS and Skype;
  • Experience in HP hardware an asset;
  • Experience with Oracle an asset;
  • Experience with Linux as asset;
  • Agile thinker with exceptional problem solving skills;
  • Enthusiastic, energetic individual with a proactive approach;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
